This Friday will witness the clash of two films – Marjaavaan and Motichoor Chaknachoor – at the box-office. Tara Sutaria, Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh starrer Marjaavaan which was slated to release earlier this month, will set clash with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty starrer Motichoor Chaknachoor which has been mired in controversy ever since it was announced. Here we bring you an early prediction of both the films at the box-office on Day 1.
Talking about box-office prediction of Marjaavaan and Motichoor Chaknachoor on Day 1, Film Business and Trade Analyst Girish Johar told us, “I will peg Marjaavan around 4-5 crores then depending upon how the day and audience would react and it will go accordingly. I will peg Motichoor Chaknachoor’s collections under a crore. The film has not been promoted extensively. The makers are probably relying on the word of mouth. Speaking about both the films Girish Johar told us, “After a long time there’s a mass commercial film, Marjaavaan is coming. Recently, you have seen all the films targeting multiplex audiences. After a long time, this film is catering to the need and tastes of the mass audiences. Even Riteish’s dwarf look is highly talked about and he’s looking great. Ritesh will surely be the highlight of the film. It is a winning pair of Riteish and Sidharth after Ek Villain, which is a good combination. Milap (director) is also returning after the success of his last film, Satyamev Jayate. “On the other hand, Motichoor Chaknachoor is a set of niche film which has a different audience profile. The film even has a fresh pairing for Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty. The trailer of the film is quite teasing but has been a tad bit low on awareness level. So basically on word of mouth, it will grow. Whatever we have seen of the film till now, it surely manages to give a smile on our face.”
